The Weekend Whiskey Band earned a reputation as a top country rock band, from nightclubs to concert stages, with high energy and enthusiasm that is reflected in their music. Their stage show is excelled only by the instrumental and vocal talent supplied by all members of the band.
Weekend Whiskey Band's first release, "One Step Closer", the title track off the album came out in february, 1991. The song did well in Europe, charting in five countries and reaching top ten status in Great Britain and Austria.
The Video "Tonight" was nominated for Best Video in 1993 by the Canadian Country Music Association.
